- Who Am I?

Two smiling young adults, a man and a woman, taking a selfie atop a tall structure with a cityscape in the background. The man wears a white cap with 'Titleist' written on it, and the woman wears glasses. The city below features numerous buildings and a clear blue sky.
Two people are taking a selfie on a train or bus. The young man is wearing a baseball cap backwards and has a surprised expression while holding a drink. The young woman, with glasses, is smiling. There is a small table with a glass on it, and the background shows metallic panels and seating.

My Name’s Ian

Pixel art of a compass rose with a black background, featuring yellow, white, blue, and black colors, with the letters  'MHG' at the center.

I’ve been gaming all my life, but only recently did I discover coding, which didn’t take me long to obsess over the same way I have with games like Destiny, Gungeon, and Celeste.

I am a 21 year old self taught (and very much still learning) coder living in Seattle working as a bartender and using that money to travel the world with my girlfriend. I make games in my free time purely for mine and your enjoyment.

ROUND TRIP

ROUND TRIP

Pixel art illustration of a white and red amulet or magical symbol on a black background.

For a while, I believed I wanted to be a pilot. I flew airplanes for a little over a year, before deciding the career wasn’t for me. This gave me the inspiration to make a game involving aircraft.

My family is REALLY into trivia. We have dozens of trivia games at home that get very competitive.

It’s common to peer over my shoulder and see me panning around Google Maps trying to get a better understanding of the world.

I combined these three passions of mine for my first title, Round Trip! The art was made in Procreate and Gimp, while the coding was done in Godot. Try It Now!

Ai’s Place In My Work

Ai’s Place In My Work

It is no secret that AI is a point of contention when it comes to creative work. I do use AI, but not for creation of ideas, sprites, maps, menus, or any other designs in game. The music is currently AI, but my buddy is working on a soundtrack.

Frankly, I do not yet know how to write code. I know what I want the program to do, but I haven’t learned the language it speaks. I use Google Gemini to bridge the gap. My goal is for this statement to change as I am able to be more and more involved in the coding process, but for now, it’s what I can do. I have dedicated many many hours to these games and hope that my original concepts can be enough to make you stay even if my code isn’t to par yet.
